Summary of actions steps (from module 2 assignment)
Learning goal is defined.
Learner and desired outcomes are established.
Potential issues are uncovered.
Available assets are identified.
Delivery schedule established.
Rapid resolution
The goal is often very specific in rapid eLearning and is often dependent on the available materials and subject mater expert (SME) input.
The delivery platform/learning management system (LMS) will dictate how the material can be presented.
SME works with ID to determine what pedagogical approaches can be utilized within the selected LMS.
Typical turnaround time is 3-4 weeks.
Examples
The audience›s familiarity/comfort with the delivery platform will need to be address by the ID. Are users already accustomed with the platform or will an introduction to it be necessary?
Design
Summary of actions steps (from module 2 assignment)
Establish assessments necessary to achieve the established learning goal(s) and applied to lesson structure.
Create static prototype/storyboard.
Rapid resolution
Content is already established by the SME and lesson structure options will be depended on LMS capabilities. The same goes for content types. If the LMS is capable of delivering rich media, branching, scenarios, and assessments then those features can be utilized. A prototype can be quickly created with placeholder content in the LMS.
Examples
SME and ID work together to create a skeleton prototype from the lesson structure and available content. Prototype can rapidly tested and lessons structure adjusted. Additional necessary content defined can then be located or created.
Development
Summary of actions steps (from module 2 assignment)
Lesson content and assessments are developed/created.
Visuals and media are produced.
Content is assembled based on the approved prototype and delivery method.
Lesson is tested and refined based on results.
Rapid resolution
Available content is inserted into prototype based on the optimal (or LMS capable) pedagogical approach by SME.
SME (or ID with direction from SME) creates any additional content that can be quickly created in the LMS without additional support.
Prototype goes through next round of testing by SME and ID.
Refinements made based on testing results.
Examples
The LMS determines how the content will be presented. SME/ID can quickly insert and test content without involving any developers. Bugs can be quickly addressed by the SME/ID and structure re-adjusted to meet any shortfalls.
Implementation
Summary of actions steps (from module 2 assignment)
Lesson is reviewed for quality assurance.
Lesson is rolled out to the intended audience and facilitators. Facilitators are trained on the course/lesson.
Learners are trained on the delivery platform if it is unfamiliar to them.
Rapid resolution
SME/ID (and any additional content testers) conduct final check and make any adjustments.
Learning is deployed to intended audience by making the prototype “live” in the delivery platform.
Examples
Lesson availability is communicated to intended audience via email and user tracking can begin. Learners that are unfamiliar with the delivery platform can be directed to additional learning (most often this is provided by the delivery platform vendor).
Evaluation
Summary of actions steps (from module 2 assignment)
Determination if the objectives and goals established in the analyze phase have been met.
Summative assessments determine the success of the course/lesson.
Results are used to revise and adjust the course/lesson to address shortfalls.
Rapid resolution
Reporting from LMS can give instant information on learners.
Summative assessments will show learner understanding of content.
Refinement based on assessments results.
Examples
Delivery platforms can provide pre-determined analytics that include the amount of time learners spent on a particular piece of content which can be correlated to the assessment. Improvements can be made based on this information such as reworking static content in to media for improved learning outcomes.
